Riddles

The riddle of now
The now of then
The how of why
The why of when

A poem of poems
A dream of dreams
The rhyme of rhymes
So simple it seems

The flow of time
The time of night
A night of rest
The rest of life

Life is a tale
Ever writing
Of light and gloom
Of peace and fighting

A world embarked on
A beginning breath
The start of the story
Of life and death

The legends are lost
And wars are won
Answers are asked
But no question

Consider all
But never choose
For answers always
Raise questions anew

Heed this verse
For better or worse
For these are the words
Of one who is cryptic
The writer of wrongs
The poet unscripted
The one of shadow
The one of light
Who writes to live
But lives to write

The riddle of then
The then of now
The when of why
The why of how

A poem of poems
A song of songs
The life of lives
Of rights and wrongs

The age of time
The time of life
A life of knowledge
And nonage’s strife

Life is a river
Ever flowing
Of shallows and rapids
Of endless going

A box of bones
A rose of red
The end of the tale
Of life and dead

The stories are stolen
And morals are gone
Answers are asked
But no question

Ponder all
But never decide
For answers have
New questions inside

Heed this verse
For better or worse
For these are the words
Of one who is clever
An author of ages
Who sees the forever
One of the future
One of the past
Who writes to live
And lives at last
